GPS: 50°5'12.84"N, 14°23'25.08"ELarge terrace of Bella Vista restaurant is situated direct below the Strahov Praemonstratensian cloister, just above the northern end of the Observation Path, which meanders on the Petřín hill-slope past Nebozízek to Smíchov. The visitor, who stops there, may combine refreshments with a fascinating view of evening Prague. Deeply below him or her there are thousands light spots and illuminated sacral as well as secular architecture.
Distinctive separation from the magnificent scenery is formed by the sloping Strahov Garden, ended with Hospital below Petřín and church of St Charles Borromeo. On the right there is a green mass of Petřín Hill with the illuminated lookout tower, on the left there is fortification of palaces in Hradčany above Úvoz Street and further there is the Prague Castle with the towers of St Vitus Cathedral. In the middle, between the Petřín slope and Hradčany tongue, you can see palaces, churches and burgher houses in the Lesser Town.
Location of this observation point enables to view distant places behind the river, the historical centre of Prague. The tower of Žižkov television transmitter glares as a light-house in the illuminated stone sea. The terrace of Bella Vista restaurant would be surely successful in an imaginary competition of other Prague’s observation points.
