View from the gallery of the Petřín lookout tower of the hundred-spired city above Vltava and behind its horizon is certainly fascinating and non-recurrent. However, most of the visitors know that only in a day-light. The view from “the Prague Eifel Tower” in the evening or night time is of absolutely different character, because Prague is illuminated at that time. The huge building body of one of the Czech statehood symbols, the Prague Castle emerges like from a fairy-tale. Other outstanding buildings can be identified in the stone sea more easily than during day; these are the National Theatre, the National Museum, the Old Town Hall, Clementinum, Rudolfinum, Municipal House, Charles Bridge towers, Old Town water tower and many others. Illuminated sacral buildings with their cupolas and towers stand out as well. There are also interesting views of Prague roads, including embankments and bridges on which there are mostly moving never-ending chains of cars and lighted trams. Such a view is available in autumn and winter months, when darkness comes early and exceptionally when the opening hours are rarely extended.
